at the threshold devotion: Saturday March 15

Share: A moment from today when you felt close to God, and a moment when you felt far from God.

Look: back on the week and notice times you were open to the Spirit, and times you were more closed off. Observe without judgment—just notice. What memories or images come to mind when you think about the word “OPEN” in relation to the past week?

Read: John 10.3b-4

He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.

Listen: to all the sounds around you—the hum of electronics, the voices of other people, sounds coming from other rooms, your own breathing. When you have thoughts, simply let them float away on the screen of your mind, and listen intently to whatever sound is in your space.

Pray: for the space and openness to hear the voice of the shepherd, and to follow him.
