Come to PCOP on the Saturday evening before Thanksgiving to celebrate in gratitude for all God has done, and commit ourselves to another year of living gratefully. Invite a friend or neighbor! Everyone who uses the building throughout the week is also invited. Bring a dish to pass, and we will feast on the luck-of-the-pots!
After dinner, we will have a communion service around the tables together.
Sunday morning, we will enjoy an Unexpected Sabbath with no commitments. (No worship service on Sunday November 23rd.) You are encouraged to actually practice Sabbath during this "found time"--rather than using it to finish up the to-do list, use it to rest in God, to remember that God is in control and you are not, and to remember that God has set us free from slavery--even slavery to the chores and honey-do lists! Relax, be renewed by the Spirit, spend time with your family, and allow God to care for you.
If you have a recipe to contribute to the PCOP cookbook, this is a great time to make it and bring the dish! We will have a photographer on hand to take pictures of food that will soon be published in the best cookbook the NW Suburbs have ever seen.
