Join us for a light lunch as we hear from Father Corey about his work with immigrants and refugees at Viator Hospitality House. During the Easter season we are practicing being OPEN...and also practicing being good stewards of the image of God in ourselves and in others. Our education and mission focus is on immigration and refugees.
Our pastor is moving this spring, and her last day with us will be April 23rd. That morning we will have a worship service focusing on the story of Jesus walking the road to Emmaus with some disciples, and sharing the bread of life with them. We will celebrate communion, and have special musical guests.
After worship there will be a congregational meeting for the purpose of dissolving the pastoral relationship between Teri and the congregation of PCOP.
And then we'll move on to a celebration of ministry, complete with cake, of course!
All are welcome, of every age and ability. Nursery is provided for those who wish to use it, and children are always welcome in worship.
He is risen indeed!
A joyful Easter morning service including special music, the celebration of communion, and lots of Hallelujahs, for Christ is Alive!
Worship begins at 10am, and is followed by a continental breakfast so we can continue the celebration of God's gift of abundant life.
The service and breakfast are for all ages, and all are welcome! There is also a nursery provided for those pre-Kindergarten children who would like to use it.
Monday evenings during Eastertide (April 4 - May 9), we'll gather at the Baumgart's home to learn more about the Holy Spirit and the work of the Spirit--especially in giving us gifts to use for the building of God's kingdom. Everyone is gifted, and God has a purpose in mind for all those gifts! So come, find your purpose, and learn how to use your gifts as God intends.
For more information and the address, please call the church office.
Celebrate the resurrection with us! Just as the women came to the tomb very early in the morning while it was still dark, and found themselves filled with the light of a brand new day in which everything was different, we too will come (not too early!) and enter into the new world God has created by raising Christ from the dead.
Worship will include joyful music, beautiful decorations, and the central story of our faith told in an engaging way. Afterward we will go through to the Cosby Room for a delicious brunch to celebrate.
For the season of Easter, we are Practicing Resurrection--acting on the core reality of our faith. Throughout the season (April 5-May 23), on Monday evenings from 6-8pm at the Panera on Rand Road in Arlington Heights, we will strengthen our spiritual foundation so that we can live as Resurrection People. The book is available from the church office for $10, or there is an e-book available from Amazon. The first meeting is April 6. See you there!
Christ is risen--he is risen indeed!
We joyfully proclaim the good news that God always has something else in store--something that shakes the foundations of life as we know it and brings us into the kingdom of God. Far from being something that happened just once a long time ago, Resurrection is at the heart of who we are as the Body of Christ--alive, and always being made new by the power of God, for the glory of God.
We worship at 10 with great celebration, and then continue the celebration with a kids' egg hunt and a continental breakfast after worship.
Then we enter the 50 days of Easter with joy and expectancy, ready to practice resurrection in all we say and do.
