Advent Mission Evening

As we enter the Advent season, join us as we share a pizza dinner, make stars to symbolize the coming of the light, and hear a speaker from A Better Life For Kids, which works with orphans and other children in Ghana. During this season, we prepare for the coming of the Christ as a child, born in an occupied land to peasant parents, and our mission project will support children in need in Ghana. It will be a great evening of food and fellowship, art and mission.

Family Movie Night

Bring the whole family for a fun evening including a light supper and a viewing of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, complete with popcorn, of course! This film adaptation of a classic book by CS Lewis explores right and wrong, faith and doubt, hope and fear...all in the context of a place where it is always winter and never Christmas. Join the Pevensie children as they follow Aslan the lion in a quest to defeat the White Witch and bring joy and love back to the world.

This movie is not just for children--it's a story with deep themes of faith, great character development, and wonderful visual effects that will delight and challenge viewers of every age.

Bonus: The Advent bible study will use the book Advent In Narnia, so this is the perfect chance to see the movie before beginning the study (which will happen after worship on the first three Sundays in December). You can get a copy of the book in the office for $13, or there are downloadable/electronic editions from your favorite booksellers.

A Light Lunch 1

Lunch is served!

And because one does not live by bread alone, a study of God's word is also served! We will look at people the Spirit has used to light the way, both in scripture and in modern times.

This week: Elizabeth and her son John the Baptist, and Jo Ann Robinson (one of the women who made the Montgomery bus boycott possible).

See you there!
